Is There a Growing Mental Health Crisis Amongst Children and Young People?

October 23 @ 13:30 - 15:00

This webinar will consider the short and long-terms trends in the concerns about child and adolescent mental health.

There is growing evidence of the impact of the pandemic on children and young people. This webinar scopes the emerging research in this area, particularly with regard to child and adolescent mental health. These current concerns, however, are in a wider context of anxieties about long terms trends in increasing child and adolescent mental health difficulties. The webinar will also consider the implications for practice in including how children, young people and their families can be supported.

The webinar will focus on:

• The legacy of the pandemic and its impact on family life;

• The emerging research into the impact of different aspects of the pandemic on child and adolescent mental health;

• Groups of children and young people who are particularly vulnerable in this current climate;

• How parents, and children and young people directly, can be supported by services;

• The implications for frontline practitioners working with children and young people.
