Yvonne has worked in the social care field since 1985 and since that time has worked across a wide range of adult and child services, including Child protection, court work, Support for people with learning disabilities, and coordinating regional support services for a national health charity.

Having worked in social care for this length of time, has allowed Yvonne to experience a range of working environments – NHS, local authority, private and charitable sector. This has allowed her to view social work “with a wider lens” having experienced the joys and pitfalls of working in both specialist and multi skilled teams. She currently provides specialist safeguarding support and training within an NHS trust.

 Welcome to the world of adult social care. If this is your first time working in this field, or in the UK, it can seem a bit daunting to get an understanding of the legislation and framework that governs this field.   • This course will enable you to meet Part 5 of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) and meet professional standards for CPD ,as defined by Social Work England.
